Arumloo makes headlines!
On display for World Toilet Day at the University of Cape Town on Monday, and releasing a 1.75 Litre flush test video online, the Arumloo drummed up a small media storm. Read what News24 had to say, listen in to an interview with the designer, Jonny Harris, on the John Maytham show, Cape Talk; and watch eNCA's live interview with Mr Harris on Wednesday morning.
Flushing comfortably on less than 2 Litres, the Arumloo is set to save households up to 30% of their water use. Current conventional toilets use between 6 - 12 Litres per flush, and account for 30-40% of the water use in a household.
In light of current water scarcity in South Africa and globally, together with the global sanitation crisis highlighted by World Toilet Day, innovation in sanitation and water-saving solutions is critical if we are to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 by 2030.
Being produced first in plastic, the Arumloo is due to go on sale in early 2019, with a ceramic version to follow. Find out more at www.arumloo.com.
